A Tale of Two Inaugurations

In 2008 Barack Obama was elected President of the United States, something I never thought I would see in my life time. In January 2009 I flew to Washington D.C. to witness the historic inauguration.

In 2016 Donald Trump, the buffoon, grifter, ex-gameshow host won the presidency of the United States. At the time many did not fully realize the significance of the moment, not even after he gave his “American Carnage’ inauguration speech.

His election had blown the lid of a dark and menacing underbelly of the United States. I felt that his inauguration would be as much a historic milestone as Obama’s had been 8 years earlier. So again I flew to Washington D.C.. Below are images from those two inaugurations.
